A Week in Paradise - Wednesday

DAY SIX

Today was the saddest day of all. It's the day we had to leave the wonderful paradise.

Our flight was at three, so naturally we showed up to the airport at twelve thirty. Check in and security were completely painless. We quickly got to the area with food.

I ate a turkey wrap with onion rings and grape juice. Once we all finished with lunch, we went into the executive lounge. Mostly it was because we wanted to be away from the small crowded area that everyone gets shoved into.

Eventually it was time to board. Once on the plane at the window seat, a couple with a baby sat in front of us. This made the flight a little more painful than necessary, but over all the flight went well.

Once on the ground however, things got hectic. Over an intercom, a man said that our bags would be in Terminal E. However my father didn't hear him and took us to Terminal A which is outside security. After waiting for our luggage to show up, we asked someone where it was. This kind person told us that it was in Terminal F - the international concourse. This made my father very upset because we landed domestic. We tried to go through security again, but we needed a ticket FROM Atlanta not TO Atlanta. We then asked the Delta workers what we should do. They told us to use the bus that would take us the the international concourse to pick up our bags. As my father got the car to pick us up there, my mother, two brothers, and I picked up our bags and waited.

Once we retrieved our bag we drove home to have dinner. My brother drove me to Panera. He ordered a cinnamon crunch bagel, and I got a sour dough bread bowl. Both were delicious.

This is the end of the week in paradise however. Now it's back to school and work...

A Week in Paradise - Tuesday

DAY FIVE

Windy is the one word to describe today. From the time I woke up, until I went to sleep I could hear the wind. I could hear it through my windows and I could hear it rattling my door.

This terrible wind made me stay inside most of the day. Except I did escape for about ten minutes. In those ten minutes I was able to see a rainbow and discover an easy way to walk to the hotel pool.

For the rest of the day, I was trapped inside as I didn't think going to the beach or pool when it was that windy would have been wise. I was able to get some YouTube stuff done though which was good. I also was able to just lounge around and be lazy which was nice too.

Tomorrow I fly back to Atlanta which is disappointing. However all good things must come to an end.

A Week in Paradise - Monday

DAY FOUR

The morning was very nice and warm. I expected it to be rainy all day long.

Around noon I went to the pool and swam some laps. Once it started raining I went back inside.

For dinner, we ate in the apartment. My dad made chicken with mac and cheese. It was delicious of course.

Then around seven thirty in the evening, we went down to the pool again. It was so beautiful at night. Across the bay, two lighthouses were shining their light around. The lights of the city looked so bright against the dark night sky. It seemed that the island had the only light in the world. The moon looked so beautiful. As the clouds covered and uncovered the moon, it became even more beautiful.

A Week in Paradise - Sunday

DAY THREE

In the morning, I was able to relax outside, catch up on some YouTube, and just take in the amazing view.

We went down to the beach once again. As the three boys played soccer and played in the waves, I finished reading Girl Online. Now that I've finished the book I can give my full review of it!

I love they style of the writing. I transported me straight to the places described. I like how the characters have a lot of depth to them and change with what's going on. The plot twist was amazing. I would have never guessed it would happen. However I do wish that the ending wasn't cut short. It seemed to me that it was rushed compared to the rest of the book. I loved the strong friendship between Eliot and Penny. I also love that in the end it had an overall good moral that was clear and easy to point out. Most books today have their morals covered by fluff and big plots with even bigger words, but the message was very clear with Girl Online. Overall a very good book, and I can't wait to read the next one!

After the beach, I decided to go on "and adventure". Basically I walked up a little street without parental supervision... So adventurous I know.

But the little houses were so cute and quaint. I love the architecture of them. The pastel colors - blue, yellow, pink - always look so lovely against the beautiful Bermuda blue water. The beautiful flowers gave the area the tropical vibe I love so much.

After my short adventure, we went to dinner. I ordered fish and chips which was very good. Then I went to sleep despite the fact it was only about nine thirty in the evening.

Creative Content

Create What You Love
I've always loved to create things to express myself. I would write songs about my "boy troubles", but then realise I couldn't play an instrument. I would make up fantasies in my head. I would try to create elaborate stories about dystopian societies, but then get lost in the plot and give up. Creating is something I've always loved to do. Yet I don't have much to show for it...

In the summer of my seventh grade year, I got bored. So I invited my best friend over to hang out. And as I said before I was bored, so I asked her if she wanted to be in my first YouTube video. She and I sat down to record a very embarrassing video with our advice about relationships (which can be found here). However embarrassing this video is, I won't delete or make it private as it is my first ever content I uploaded to my YouTube channel. Without this video I would not be sitting in my bedroom at 9:30pm writing about my passions to create. This video was the start of my passion to create content on YouTube.

The reason I chose to upload a YouTube was more than just boredom however. I had always been intrigued by sharing my opinions with anyone and everyone who will listen, and YouTube is the perfect place for that. Taking an idea in my head and making it into reality is just so satisfying. It gives my joy when people comment on my videos telling me how much they enjoyed what I created. However I don't create for the numbers and comments from strangers around the world. I create for the pure joy of setting my ideas free.

About the same time, I started to choreograph my first dance. I spent hours pouring over a notebook with scratches and scribbles of my vision and ideas. Hours of effort went into choreographing the dance, and even more in rehearsals to make it just right. The girls that I had in my dance were so lovely and passionate too. If it weren't for them, my ideas would have never been reality. Their passion for the dance and my passion for creating it flowed perfectly together. I literally started crying when I saw it performed on stage for the first time. I don't think I have been more excited or happy to see my vision come to reality.

Of course when something gives you such overwhelming feelings, you're going to continue to do it. Which is why I spend my weekends choreographing dances and creating videos. Which is why I'm spending my Thanksgiving break vlogging, and finishing up my choreography for this year's piece. And which is why I'm okay with that.

So long story short I just like to create visual content that connects people in some way.

Begin Agian

New beginnings are fun, exciting, and scary... Recently I started at  new school. Not only a new school but high school. Half the people I talked to said it would be great, but others said it would be terrible. Instead of listening to either set of people, I decided to make of it what I would.

Honestly, the scariest thing of high school for me was meeting new people. I am a very introverted person, but I have found a few good people I mesh with. Which in my opinion is a lot better than a big clique.

But I'm hoping that the new AOA will be as amazing as my new school has been.

I'll write you guys tomorrow.

I Can't Motivate Myself

New YouTube Video
Recently, I've been struggling with motivation. Every time I want to do something like film a video or even get out of bed, I find myself struggling. This is of course very bad for YouTube and school and life and general.

Three Tips to Motivate Yourself

  1. Make sure you enjoy what you are doing - even if you hate what you have to do pretend it's something fun or give yourself a little reward afterwards.
  2. Get enough sleep - seems simple enough, but most humans get less than sufficient amounts of sleep. However we trudge on. Sleep gives your body (and your mind) time to replenish so catch some z's.
  3. Believe in yourself - as cliche as it sounds knowing you can do something and do it well does wonders for your motivation.

Hopefully these tips helped you out some or were relatable. Now go and seize the rest of your day and do something you enjoy!
