New Year, New Opportunity

This past year has been full of new places, new people, and plenty of new experiences. In 2015, I've visited four countries - Bermuda, Germany, and the Netherlands. I've met two of my favorite band members - Alex and Jack. I've started highschool in a new school system. I've gone away for dance camp. I've hit 200 subscribers on YouTube. I've met a group of people I connect with on YouTube.

I'm nervous but excited to see what 2016 will bring. I would say that 2015 has been the most memorable in my short time on this earth, but that's because I've only lived about a decade and a half.

In hopes to make 2016 better than 2015 I have resolutions like most people. However I'm making only three as I feel that there is a good amazing in that I can maintain.

First Resolution: To be happy
Happiness was something I struggled with in 2015. Whether that be because of people, stress, and just general unhappiness. This year I want to do things that make me happy. I want to surround myself with people who I enjoy being around. Also I want to attempt to write one thing that made me smile in a notebook everyday. That way when I can look back on happy thoughts.

Second Resolution: To face my fears
I've spent most of my 2015 being afraid of what people think of me, of being too afraid to talk to people, being too afraid to tell people what I really think. I want speak my mind, cut out the people I don't need in my life, and talk to people who I would otherwise never speak to.

Third Resolution: To believe in myself
In 2016 I want to believe that I'm able to do things that otherwise I couldn't do. When I go to dance competitions I don't want to be worried about what people are saying about my dancing. I want to go to school and be the talkative girl instead of the quite girl.

Regardless if I'm actually able to do these things or not, it's the thought that counts. The truth is that no one knows what 2016 holds but really and truly it will be the same thing as last year. It will be another year that the earth goes around the sun. Another year that people are born and others die. It will be different for everyone, but I hope everyone has a wonderful year for this year and many more.

A Week in Paradise - Wednesday

DAY SIX

Today was the saddest day of all. It's the day we had to leave the wonderful paradise.

Our flight was at three, so naturally we showed up to the airport at twelve thirty. Check in and security were completely painless. We quickly got to the area with food.

I ate a turkey wrap with onion rings and grape juice. Once we all finished with lunch, we went into the executive lounge. Mostly it was because we wanted to be away from the small crowded area that everyone gets shoved into.

Eventually it was time to board. Once on the plane at the window seat, a couple with a baby sat in front of us. This made the flight a little more painful than necessary, but over all the flight went well.

Once on the ground however, things got hectic. Over an intercom, a man said that our bags would be in Terminal E. However my father didn't hear him and took us to Terminal A which is outside security. After waiting for our luggage to show up, we asked someone where it was. This kind person told us that it was in Terminal F - the international concourse. This made my father very upset because we landed domestic. We tried to go through security again, but we needed a ticket FROM Atlanta not TO Atlanta. We then asked the Delta workers what we should do. They told us to use the bus that would take us the the international concourse to pick up our bags. As my father got the car to pick us up there, my mother, two brothers, and I picked up our bags and waited.

Once we retrieved our bag we drove home to have dinner. My brother drove me to Panera. He ordered a cinnamon crunch bagel, and I got a sour dough bread bowl. Both were delicious.

This is the end of the week in paradise however. Now it's back to school and work...

A Week in Paradise - Tuesday

DAY FIVE

Windy is the one word to describe today. From the time I woke up, until I went to sleep I could hear the wind. I could hear it through my windows and I could hear it rattling my door.

This terrible wind made me stay inside most of the day. Except I did escape for about ten minutes. In those ten minutes I was able to see a rainbow and discover an easy way to walk to the hotel pool.

For the rest of the day, I was trapped inside as I didn't think going to the beach or pool when it was that windy would have been wise. I was able to get some YouTube stuff done though which was good. I also was able to just lounge around and be lazy which was nice too.

Tomorrow I fly back to Atlanta which is disappointing. However all good things must come to an end.

A Week in Paradise - Monday

DAY FOUR

The morning was very nice and warm. I expected it to be rainy all day long.

Around noon I went to the pool and swam some laps. Once it started raining I went back inside.

For dinner, we ate in the apartment. My dad made chicken with mac and cheese. It was delicious of course.

Then around seven thirty in the evening, we went down to the pool again. It was so beautiful at night. Across the bay, two lighthouses were shining their light around. The lights of the city looked so bright against the dark night sky. It seemed that the island had the only light in the world. The moon looked so beautiful. As the clouds covered and uncovered the moon, it became even more beautiful.

A Week in Paradise - Sunday

DAY THREE

In the morning, I was able to relax outside, catch up on some YouTube, and just take in the amazing view.

We went down to the beach once again. As the three boys played soccer and played in the waves, I finished reading Girl Online. Now that I've finished the book I can give my full review of it!

I love they style of the writing. I transported me straight to the places described. I like how the characters have a lot of depth to them and change with what's going on. The plot twist was amazing. I would have never guessed it would happen. However I do wish that the ending wasn't cut short. It seemed to me that it was rushed compared to the rest of the book. I loved the strong friendship between Eliot and Penny. I also love that in the end it had an overall good moral that was clear and easy to point out. Most books today have their morals covered by fluff and big plots with even bigger words, but the message was very clear with Girl Online. Overall a very good book, and I can't wait to read the next one!

After the beach, I decided to go on "and adventure". Basically I walked up a little street without parental supervision... So adventurous I know.

But the little houses were so cute and quaint. I love the architecture of them. The pastel colors - blue, yellow, pink - always look so lovely against the beautiful Bermuda blue water. The beautiful flowers gave the area the tropical vibe I love so much.

After my short adventure, we went to dinner. I ordered fish and chips which was very good. Then I went to sleep despite the fact it was only about nine thirty in the evening.

A Week in Paradise - Saturday

DAY TWO

Today was a simple relaxing day. I lounged most of the morning. Around noon my family decided it was finally time to go down to the beach.

At the beach, I walked up and down the shoreline to get some good video clips and take some nice pictures. The sky was beautiful and the water was the clear blue that I can only find in Bermuda. The pink sand was the perfect mix of soft and warm. It was the perfect scenery.

After walking around a little bit, my mom and I went around to find sea glass... And we found a lot. Further down on the beach is an area full of vegetation and rocks. Once at this point, I climbed on to the rocks for a picture.

We then walked back to where our chairs were placed. The beach was almost completely empty. So using a cute little speaker, we played the playlist "Beach Party" off Spotify. I sat and read my book. I read about one hundred pages of Girl Online by Zoe Sugg. I am so enraptured by her writing. It really is quite good.

While I was sitting and reading, my dad and brother were jumping waves. They looked like they were having so much fun as they attempted (and failed) to not be taken over by the waves. A few new people had come down to enjoy the beach by this time. One of the men had come down with who I assumed were his wife, his daughter, and her children. He seemed to want to go out and join my brother and father, but something was holding him back... Also another family with two young kids had come to join in on the fun. They played in the sand digging holes with their dad. All of them looked so happy enjoying the sun.

Around three o'clock, we left the beach. We met my older brother at the condo as he just arrived. Then we went to Swizzle Inn. This is a place that my family has gone to for years. Every time we come to Bermuda we eat here at least once. My mom and I shared a chicken quesadilla which was delicious. For dessert, I had an Oreo milkshake. My mother and brother shared a peach and apple tart which I may or may not have had a bite of...

After dinner, I went to bed because for some reason the beach always tires me out.

A Week in Paradise - Friday

DAY ONE

After waking up at 6:00, my family got in the car to head airport. After half an hour or so in the car, we arrived at the airport. Check in and security were surprisingly painless. We then went to sit in the Delta Sky Lounge until our flight was ready to board.

The greatest thing about the Sky Lounge (besides the wifi) was the Starbucks machine. With the press of a button you could have a steaming vanilla peppermint latte or cappuccino or anything you could want really. After making my delicious drink, I went and sat by the window to watch my daily dose Casey Neistat and catch a cool time lapse. Then it was time to get ready to board.

After boarding the plane, it was a typically long wait until take off with a typically easy flight. The flight of course had wifi so I was able to watch the movie Midnight in Paris. It was such a well done movie, and I loved the idea behind the movie. The script was well written... Overall, brilliantly done. Soon after my movie finished, we landed.

Customs was painless, and our bags were the first off the plane. The lady who drove us to where we're staying was polite, but didn't talk much. When we arrived at Tucker's Point, the condo/apartment/flat place we were staying in wasn't ready yet. We went to eat lunch at the hotel restaurant.

The food was good but the view was even better. The weather was the perfect temperature where you could eat outside and not need a jacket, but if you desired you could wear longer sleeves.

Afterwards, we went to the apartment like room and simply unpacked and relaxed for the rest of the day. We didn't go out for dinner. Instead we stayed in and watched Shawshank Redemption, and ate pizza.
